Capiroto Records released Fault Lines, the second release by Marek Kubala, from Huddersfield and now based in east London. Fault Lines sees Marek ditch his signature classical guitar and downtempo moods and deliver an infectious slice of punky indie-pop, with touches of Courtney Bartnett, Whitey, The B-52s, and Nirvana, including quirky electronics and a chorus that will bounce round your head for days. A powerful song which carries a lot of Marek’s personality, characterised by his style of singing and producing. Fault Lines follows Marek’s debut Awhile EP which featured on BBC Introducing – a more acoustic and downtempo electronic work yet one thing they share is Marek’s songwriting and voice. The single also contains a remix by a London electro-indie project called Naives, which is highly percussive with a tight bass groove.
Official release 9th of August.
